Things to do in and around Torquay

First recognised as a holiday destination by the Victorians, Torquay has something to offer everyone.  From top class restaurants such as The Orange Tree and the Michelin stared Elephant, to the many lively cafes' and bars centred around the harbour.

Top attractions include the Jubilee Wheel, offering spectacular views out over the Bay, The Living Coast Marine Zoo, with it's famous penguins, and Cockington Country Park, with its grand manor house, thatched cottages, quaint church and stunning grounds.  The hotel is just a short stroll from Torre Abbey which has now re-opened to the public after extensive renovation works and the famous 'Rock Walk' offering spectacular views across the bay.
There are many boat trips available from the pier, just a short walk for the hotel, taking you across the Bay to Brixham, with its working fish port and many superb fish restaurants, or further afield to Agatha Christie's famous former home Greenways where you can soak up the atmosphere crated by one of Torquays most famous residents.

The local coast line was designated a ‘Global Geo-Park’ just a few years ago and offers some truly fantastic walks along some of the UK’s last remaining unspoilt coast line.

For theatre lovers, the Princess Theatre, is just minutes from the hotel, offering many West End style productions as well as the opportunity to see some of the UK's greatest names in show business. The Babbacombe Theatre with its spectacular 'End of the Pier' type shows and The Little Theatre offering regular high quality amateur productions.

Further afield Exeter the regional capital, is just 20 minutes away by car with Exeter Cathedral and many stylish shops & restaurants.  Dartmouth is around 30 minutes away, with all its naval history and beautiful estuary views.

Having lived and worked in the area for many years now, we will be more than happy to advise you on the many attractions and activities the Bay has to offer.
